Course Description

ExportGA is an intensive four session, 16-hour export training program designed to help Georgia companies develop their skills and identify new international sales opportunities. Companies will come away from the program with a proactive export plan. Each participating company will have access to its own student from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business to assist with research.

In addition, each company will work with trade representatives from the Georgia Department of Economic Development International Trade Division, US Department of Commerce Commercial Services, US Small Business Administration's Office of International Trade and US Export-Import Bank. Companies who apply and are accepted into the program are allowed to have multiple employees attend each session.

Course Outline

The sessions will cover: researching international markets, identifying marketing partners, developing marketing strategies, preparing international quotes, understanding logistics terms, learning about risk mitigation, pursuing financing options, discussing international payment terms, becoming aware of legal issues, reviewing export regulations, using free trade agreements and globalizing websites.
