Course Description
Brick & Mortar is not dead and most small businesses still need some type of physical location. But what they need now may look very different than it did pre-pandemic. This session covers basic and advanced topics for leasing a commercial space and also addresses changes we have seen during the pandemic.

Learner Outcomes
- Understand the importance of ingress/egress, visibility, traffic patterns, signage restrictions, tenant mix, parking and exclusivity.
- Understand the difference between zoning compliance and building/business compliance.
- Understand the different types of leases and how to calculate the actual rent and other expenses.
- Understand how to determine and negotiate lease terms, other costs and landlord contributions.
- Understand the legal and personal ramifications of entering into a commercial lease.
